The Mandate Health Empowerment Initiative is a mental health focused non-governmental organization aimed at improving mental health support in Nigeria by providing advocacy, championing campaign for policymaking implementation, sensitization, and psychosocial support on maternal and child mental health, drugs and psychoactive substance use, suicide prevention, and protection of people with mental disorders.

Our Core Area

Advocate for the provision of Mental Health policy that is responsive for all Nigerians across state and ensure that mental health is on the national agenda of the government to improve the delivery on Mental Health Services.

To promote recovery approach and support on child and maternal health through responsive programs. Also create awareness on Child and Maternal Mental Health in communities and Hospital .

Sensitizing stakeholders e.g Traditional leaders, Religion leaders, Road transport workers, Media, Teachers etc) and the general public on the danger of mis-using drugs / psychoactive substance and also sensitization on the need to stop stigmatization of drug users.

Domestic and gender-based violence is a serious problem. The majority of victims of gender
based and domestic violence is primarily women, followed by children. The
consequences of violence pose a risk to victims’ physical and mental health and
quality of their life, both private and professional.
